The ISTH Congress Early Career Lounge is an important place to gather for early career professionals. Located in the exhibition area, this special area offers light refreshments and opportunities to network for registrants in the early career categories. It is open from 9:45-17:00, on June 25-27. Sunday, June 25:

• 10:15-10:45: Meet the Early Career Committee
  Meet and mingle with members of the ISTH Early Career Committee (ECC) to learn about the committee's activities across the Society and what it's like to serve on the committee.

• 12:15-13:15: Fireside chat on cross-cultural/cross-regional communication
  Join Dr. Johnny Mahlangu and Dr. Yogen Kanthi to engage in a dialogue on how to communicate effectively across cultures and regions, discovering the many advantages to your career.

• 12:15-13:15: Advancing Your Career through Thrombosis Awareness: A World Thrombosis Day event with Lana Castellucci
  Join Dr. Lana Castellucci, chair of the World Thrombosis Day (WTD) Steering Committee, to learn about how to become involved in the WTD Campaign. Learn how advocating for thrombosis awareness has not only enriched her career but improved the lives countless individuals.

• 13:00-14:00: ISTH Congress: A guide for first-timers
  Are you attending your first ISTH Congress or curious about how to get the most out of your Congress experience? Join members of the ISTH Early Career Committee (ECC) and other first-timers to learn tips for maximizing the Congress experience both during and after.

• 16:00-17:00: Learn more about ISTH fellowships and fellowship networking 
  Learn more about ISTH’s fellowship programs and the new Fundamental Research Career Development Award. Recent fellows will share personal experiences, and winners of Fundamental Research Career Development Award will give brief remarks. ISTH leaders will be present for networking afterward, with food and beverages available for attendees.

Monday, June 26:

• 12:30-13:30: Peer mentoring
  Connect with other early career professionals in the same career stage, whether you're a student, resident/post-doc or early faculty. Network with your peers to share experiences and tips for how to navigate this stage in your career.

• 13:30-14:30: Meet the SSC Leadership and learn how to get involved
  Network with SSC leaders and discover how to connect with a subcommittee, including a live demonstration of the SSC's online communities on My ISTH.

• 16:00-17:00: Reach-the-World Fellowship reception and networking
  All Reach-the-World members and attendees are invited to the Early Career Lounge for a special reception.  A short presentation on education and outreach programs available for RTW members will be followed by networking with ISTH leaders and staff. Food and beverages will be available for attendees.

Tuesday, June 27: 

• 10:15-10:45: Learn more about Mentor-Mentee Match
  Learn from ISTH leaders about the benefits of establishing a mentor/mentee relationship that crosses international boundaries before a brief demo of the new Mentor-Mentee Match program is provided.  Attendees can sign up to be a mentor or mentee live in the lounge!   

• 12:30-13:00: JTH Editors Awards presentation
  Join Dr. James Morrissey and Dr. David Lillicrap, Editors-in-Chief of JTH, as they present awards to early career professionals for best manuscripts published in 2022.

• 13:30-14:30: The SSC: The scientific arm of the ISTH and how to engage
  Meet members of the SSC Leadership and learn how to engage with one of the 21 Subcommittees, including how to get involved in SSC projects and become a Co-Chair.

• 16:00 – 17:00: Early Career Lounge wrap-up and learn how to get involved in ISTH future activities
  Reconnect with colleagues you have met during the congress and recharge before the last evening or start the evening early with refreshments and food as you get ready for the last poster session. While there, find out how to get involved in future ISTH programs and how to apply for early career opportunities.
