POSTER AND ePOSTER GUIDELINES

Roles and Responsibilities: Presenters are asked to print, stand with, and present their poster during their scheduled poster networking session AND are encouraged to submit an electronic poster.

Hanging of Posters:

  • Sunday, June 25 beginning at 09:45

  • Monday, June 26 beginning at 09:45

  • Tuesday, June 27 beginning at 09:45

 

Authors Present at Poster Networking:

  • Sunday, June 25 from 18:30 – 19:30

  • Monday, June 26 from 18:30 – 19:30

  • Tuesday, June 27 from 18:30 – 19:30

Poster Session Schedule:

  • Posters will be on display from Sunday, June 25 – Tuesday, June 27. Each day different posters will be hung.

  • Mounting material to hang your poster will be provided.

  • Poster presenters are asked to be present at their poster during the Poster Networking Session on the day they were assigned in their abstract notification. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the abstract authors to discuss their research and ask questions. We ask presenters to be available at their posters during this time.

Dismantling:

All posters should be taken down by 19:30 on the day of presentation. Posters that have not been taken down by 19:30 will be dismantled and destroyed.   

 

Poster Size:

Poster should be an approximate size of - 145 cm (in width) by 90 cm (in height), horizontal/landscape format. This is the size of the usable surface of the display panels. Do NOT exceed the size of the display panel.

 

Please Be Advised:

Upload your Poster file ahead of the deadline if you need to coordinate the audio recording in a timely manner.

 

Requirements:
Please make sure you include your new abstract number that you have received in your abstract notification on your poster. ISTH will provide each presenting author with the abstract presentation number once confirmation has been received.
 

Format:

  • Please make sure you include your new abstract number that you have received in your abstract notification on your ePoster.

  • QR codes are not permitted on posters. 

  • Mounting material to hang your poster will be provided

  • Place a heading that runs the full width of the poster at the top in a large-sized type.

  • The poster should be readable from a distance of 1.5 – 2 meters (4 – 6 feet).

  • The text should be no less than 8 mm (22 point font) and preferably larger.

  • Use a constant font throughout the poster.

  • Use a black and bold type to ensure legibility and let your important points stand out.

  • We suggest that you show the preferred sequence in which your poster should be reviewed; this can be done by using 3 – 5 columns so the eye movement is down the columns.

  • Highlight your main findings. Don’t hide your conclusions, consider putting them at eye level, at the top of the right column or alternatively start with the Conclusions. Otherwise, we suggest that you structure your poster by Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. State your aims in the end of the introduction.

  • The figures and tables should cover approximately 50% of the poster area.


Other Recommendations:

  • If possible, avoid abbreviations and acronyms, especially in the Conclusion section.

  • Seek simplicity, keep text to a minimum and avoid redundancies.

  • Feel free to provide one or more key references.

  • Prepare a short (< 60 seconds) oral guide through your poster to be offered to those that prefer your words before reading for themselves.

  • Handouts of your abstract/poster are allowable. We encourage you to include your email address on your poster or handout, so anyone interested may contact the abstract author about questions, comments, or future research inquiries.

ePosters

The ISTH will again be working with MULTIEPOSTER to upload all posters to be made available online. Abstract Presenters should have received an email from MULTIEPOSTER with detailed information with instructions on how to upload their poster. 

 

Instructions for the preparation of your ePoster

  • PowerPoint file or PDF file - landscape format (ratio 140 cm width x 90 cm height)

  • Not password-protected

  • One (1) Slide only

  • ISTH encourages you to use the ePoster templates. Nevertheless, the use of templates is not mandatory and presenters are free to submit their own designs and color schemes as long as it is in landscape format.

  • ​​ePoster + Audio Narration:  An ePoster will be developed using the below guidelines. Each author is strongly encouraged to add audio narration to each ePoster section, during the final review step. Access Posters Online

As an added-value service, all presenters who upload their posters via the MULTIEPOSTER platform will have their poster and the corresponding abstract will be posted on the ISTH Academy at academy.isth.org or via the ISTH Academy App. By having your ePoster included in the ISTH Academy it will prolong the ePoster session experience and increase the visibility of your work for long after the meeting has finished. To log in, use your ISTH username and password. If you don't have an ISTH account, you can become an ISTH member HERE. Please note that the ISTH also offers a free Academy membership with limited access.

 

Access Abstracts Online

All accepted abstracts will be published on the online itinerary planner on Friday, June 24 at 9:00 AM U.S. Eastern Time. In addition, they will be published as a supplement to the ISTH open access journal, Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis after the congress, by the end of November.  

 

Audio Recording FAQ

  • Is there a deadline for audio narration recording?
    No.

  • If I submit before the deadline but then need to re-upload with new edits, am I able to do so?
    Yes. 

  • If I re-upload a new ePoster, will my old audio files be deleted?
    No. The audio will remain the same unless a section of the ePoster is removed.

  • Are you limited to the number of narrations you can use?
    One per section maximum.

  • Can you narrate specific figures? Or only the larger sections in the ePoster template provided?
    Any section can have narration (except if you send us a video to add on a section).

  • Is there a time limit on the recorded narrations (per section or overall)?
    No. But please keep it short and concise.

  • Can audio files be uploaded?
    No. The audio must be recorded online in order to be directly uploaded in the correct format on the correct section.

  • When can I add audio narration?
    After you submit your ePoster file, we will process it to an electronic poster. This can take a few hours to a few days depending on the volume we receive. You will receive an email once the audio narration is ready to be recorded.
